Bosque Restrooms Back in Service

The permanent restrooms are back in service in The Bosque along the Concho River walk after quicker-than-expected repairs to the facilities by City Water Utility Maintenance crews.

Earlier this week, initial estimates were that repairs to a sewer lift station that suffered a recent failure would take approximately two months. City crews reported this afternoon that the station, which moves wastewater from lower to higher elevations, had been repaired and the restrooms reopened.

“Our City crews, which always do a fantastic job, got the failure repaired far quicker than any of us ever anticipated,” Parks and Recreation Director Carl White said.

Temporary toilets installed this week at The Bosque will be removed.

The Bosque is the games court area adjacent to the Irving Street low-water crossing. It includes washer-pitching pits, a bocce ball court, an oversized chess board, barbecue pits and public art. The area will be a hub of activity during the second annual River Fest on Sept. 19-20.
