Two San Angelo Streets Will Close for Construction

SAN ANGELO, TX -- A portion of two San Angelol streets will be closed this week for construction.

According to City of San Angelo Public Information Officer Anthony Wilson the 700 block of South Chadbourne Street, adjacent to Santa Fe Crossing and Santa Fe Depot, will be closed Thursday as rails are replaced at the railway crossing there. Traffic will be rerouted at West Avenue C onto Irving Street, and at Avenue D onto Oakes Street. Construction is expected to last two or three days.

On Friday, Ricks Drive at Bell Street will close to traffic for approximately two weeks to allow for the ongoing rebuild of Bell. The north and southbound lanes of Bell Street will remain open. Access to Ricks from Bell will be blocked for about two weeks.

Motorists may detour onto Magnolia Street and along North Schroeder Avenue to Ricks. The detour will be marked. Beacon Street and Smith Boulevard will also be open as alternate but unmarked routes to the PaulAnn area.

In both locations, motorists should drive with caution to protect themselves and the workers.
