SAN ANGELO, TX — What started out as showing animals in stock shows at an early age quickly turned into getting on a horse and learning how to barrel race. Fast forward to 2019, San Angelo’s own Bridget Jones Carr has made a name for herself as one of the most well-known barrel racers in West Texas.
In this video, Carr shares the feeling of directing her horses with speed and precision, her inspiration to keep riding, and what it’s like to perform before an arena full of hometown fans.

Bridget performed in the 2019 San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo. Her 15.09-second run wasn't fast enough to make it into the finals. The times were very tough to beat this year.
What's next for Carr? She's going to compete to qualify for the Austin, Texas rodeo in March.
"I'm just letting the Lord lead my path and take me where he thinks I need to go," she said.
