SAN ANGELO, TX -- The annual San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo begins this week and true to form, the area will experience inclement weather. There's a cold front moving into the Concho Valley today and forecasters are predicting a chance of rain by the weekend.
The cold front will arrive across West Central Texas late Monday morning and into the afternoon hours. Sustained winds behind this front will be in the 20 to 30 mph range with gusts as high as 45 mph. Temperatures north of Interstate 10 will be a bit cooler in the 50s, and highs will be in the low to mid 60s across Interstate 10. Expect a cold night with lows dropping into the mid 20s across all of West Central Texas.
The annual rodeo parade is Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in downtown San Angelo. In years past San Angelo has experienced everything from cold temperatures to rain and even snow flurries.
In 2018, San Angelo was under a winter weather advisory as the rodeo parade took place.
This year's forecast at this point is calling for a 20 percent chance of showers Friday and Friday night with low temperatures in the mid 40s. It should warm up nicely Saturday with highs in the upper 60s.
The San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo runs from Friday Feb.1 through Sunday Feb. 17.
