SAN ANGELO, TX -- (San Angelo ISD Press Release) The Lake View High School Writers Club recently published a book on Amazon. The children's book, which is titled Bumble: The Busy Bees, was entirely written, edited, and illustrated by Lake View students.
The book tells the story of a little bee who desperately wants his busy parents' attention. Bumble and his parents learn to deal with the business of life, realizing that love is always there.
The Lake View Writers Club, which meets once a month, offers positive support and feedback for students who love to write, helping them grow and develop their craft. Students interests range from writing comics and manga to plays and novels. Sponsor Holly Stovall said that this project "was a neat way for them to be able to express themselves and to showcase their talents."
Students began working on the book at the beginning of this school year. Students brainstormed ideas for the book together and then divided up and individually wrote the different sections of the book. They then combined the different sections and worked together to fine-tune and edit the story. After the story was written and edited, senior student Alayna Gregg created all of the illustrations for the book.
Stovall said she is proud of her students for seeing this project through from start to finish. "Why I'm proud of them," she said, "is that they thought 'Let's publish a book,' they wrote it, they edited, they put it together, they illustrated, and they actually followed through and did what a lot of people just talk about. That last step is what separates the dreamers and the doers. And it just makes me proud to be amongst a lot of doers."
Bumble: The Busy Bees is available for purchase on Amazon. All proceeds from the sale of the book go towards publishing other student works, with the ultimate goal of starting a student works section of the Lake View Library.

This is a wonderful idea. It is time for the adults to let Our Younger Generation be set free and " Let them fly ". I am very proud of Our Lake View brilliance and inspiration. I am going buy them and send them to My Sister to show that Her top dollar school can't create the brilliance of Our Young Ones with a hunger for knowledge of Art, Literature, Science, the Classics and always , always asking the questions How and Why. I am very proud to live among the future. May They Stand on The Shoulders of the Greats, and Reach Out For That Brass Ring. Never Quit and Never Give Up !! I am proud of the Lake View Students and all the Teachers and Support Staff, all the way to the Janitors. You are a Team.
