Isolated Thunderstorms Possible Friday

SAN ANGELO -- Isolated thunderstorms will be possible Friday. The main hazard will be cloud to ground lightning.

At 8 a.m. Friday morning a band of light to moderate showers was moving over the eastern Concho Valley and eastern Big Country, while an area of moderate showers was moving into Crockett County. Showers are expected to become more widespread across the Big Country, Concho Valley and Northern Edwards Plateau through 11 a.m.

Additional rainfall of a trace to a tenth of an inch, and locally up to three tenths of an inch, is possible through 11 am, along with isolated lightning strikes.

According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo, there is a 90 percent chance of rain today with temperatures reaching 61 degrees this afternoon.

Winds will be south to southwest at 10 to 15 mph and gusty.  Minor street flooding can be expected at times with the isolated thunderstorms.
