HURST, TX-- The Hurst Police Department are investigating threats sent to students of Hurst L.D. Bell High School via text message over the last two days. Hurst Bell is a school in Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD and San Angelo Central's district for UIL events.
The threats were made on Wednesday morning and continued on Thursday, police told the Dallas Morning News. The text was sent to 15 students on Wednesday and "at varying intervals" into Thursday.
The anonymous threats were labeled as "unsubstantiated" by police, but they are continuing to investigate the threat and monitor social media.
"The safety of our high school students is our utmost priority," a statement from police read.
Hurst Police were still at campus as a precautionary measure on Thursday according to the Dallas Morning News.
The Central Bobcats and Lady Cats basketball teams are scheduled to play Hurst Bell at Bell this Friday.
