SAN ANGELO, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation's contractor Reece Albert, Inc. will begin a $7 million dollar project to improve a portion of U.S. 277 north of Bronte on January 21, 2019.
Starting at the Kickapoo Creek Bridge and going 8.3 miles north to the “Y” split at SH 70, the roadway there will receive a rehabilitation from shoulder to shoulder. Initially, work will begin on the shoulder of the road to improve that area. Next, traffic will be moved to the shoulder so work can begin on the main travel lanes.
Several months into the project, a pilot car operation will be in place during daylight hours to secure the safety of the traveling public and the workers in the area. An 11-foot width restriction will also be in effect.
The project is expected to be completed by November 2019.
