AEP Crews Working on Main Power Line to Restore Power

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- There are reports of widespread power outages across San Angelo Wednesday afternoon.  Scanner reports indicate traffic signals are down around town especially in the downtown area.  

Treat all intersections as four way stops until the traffic lights are restored. 

San Angelo Police are responding to several crashes and are working intersections where the signal lights are out. 

This is a developing story. 

UPDATE: Wed. 2:25 p.m.

There are reports that power has been restored to some traffic signals.  

 UPDATE: Wed. 2:55 p.m.

AEP crews are working on a main electric transmission line in east San Angelo. 

Power gradually being restored to downtown San Angelo and traffic signals.  

Authorities are still urging caution in areas were traffic signals are out.

The LAST thing this town needs is for the traffic signals to malfunction; most of these idiots can’t drive when they are being directed, they damn sure can’t drive with no visual guidance!

I agree with Devil Dog. This is the last thing we need. I just went down Sherwood trying to get to HEB and it was impossible. There were dozens of people in line. I had to turn around and go the older HEB, and one of the things I need was cat food, and I can only find that brand in the new HEB.
