Chicken Farm Art Center Founder Roger Allen Passes Away

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Roger Allen, the founder of the Chicken Farm Art Center in San Angelo, has passed away. 

Family members confirmed the artist's passing Tuesday afternoon. 

Allen was known for many things especially the art colony on north MLK Blvd. which has grown for at least 48 years. 

Allen became famous for his StarKeeper pottery and the art center which is unique in Texas. 

Roger Allen was also known to those who knew him for his friendly and infectious personality and his selfless passion and appreciation for art and his warm and comfortable smile.  

Roger Allen was 75.
