Police: Mechanical Issue Causes Uninsured Driver to Crash into Light Pole

SAN ANGELO, TX-- A single vehicle crash on Wednesday could have been caused by a mechanical malfunction on the car, police say.

A Nissan Altima was traveling southeast on Sherwood Way Thursday morning when it veered off to the right. The car then hopped the curb and struck a speed limit sign, street sign and light pole according to police.

AEP was on scene assessing the damage to the light pole.

The driver of the Altima was uninjured in the crash. However, she was given two citations for no insurance and driving while license invalid. She was also given a warning for unsafe movement to the right.
