Two Injured in Crash Near Shannon Medical Center

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Two people were injured in a crash at the intersection of Harris Ave. and Main St. Monday morning sending both drivers to the hospital. 

According to San Angelo Police Department investigating officer Bylsma, an 89-year-old woman driving a 1997 Mazda minivan westbound on Harris Ave. and ran a red light at the intersection crashing into a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup.  The pickup was northbound on Main St. and had a green light. 

The woman was transported to the hospital by ambulance. 

The driver of the pickup was complaining of knee pain and was taken to the hospital by private vehicle. 

Officer Bylsma says the investigation is still ongoing, but at this time the driver of the minivan could be issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way.
