SAN ANGELO, TX-- Central senior Maverick McIvor is sticking with his original plan for college.
On Wednesday, McIvor announced he is recommitting to Texas Tech University.
"Considering numerous talks with God, family, and coaches, I have made my decision to recommit to Texas Tech," McIvor tweeted. "I can't wait to see what my future holds and I'm excited to start my journey in [Lubbock]!"
The move comes almost two weeks after the 6-foot-3 senior reopened his recruiting. He reopened his recruiting after Kliff Kingsbury was fired as head football coach for the Red Raiders.
Speculation about Kingsbury taking a job as USC's offensive coordinator led many to believe McIvor would follow suit to southern California.
McIvor missed nine games this season with a knee injury he suffered against Del Rio in week 2.
In those two games, McIvor threw for 568 yards and six touchdowns.
