ABILENE, TX-- Mistaken identity from a road rage incident almost led to an Abilene woman being run down in the parking lot of her workplace on Friday.
The female victim was walking into work at West Texas Retina Consultants around 8 a.m. when the incident occurred, according to Abilene Police.
She then had to run out of the path of a car that started speeding toward her at a high rate of speed. The suspect then fled out of the parking lot.
The incident report from the Abilene Police Department said the suspect had mistaken the victim as the second party from an earlier road rage incident. The confusion stemmed from the suspect mistaking the two cars due to their similarity.
Police have no physical description of the suspect, but say they were driving a white minivan.
The suspect is facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second degree felony.

The APD report stated the "suspect" mistook the victim from an earlier incident. Yet no description of the "suspect" is available. How can they know this without ever speaking with the "suspect"?
