SONORA, TX-- The Sonora Lady Broncos opened their annual home tournament with an undefeated day, including a lopsided showing against Brackett.
The Lady Broncos beat Brackett 64-8 to open the tournament.
Sonora led 44-2 at halftime. Brackett didn't score the majority of their points in the fourth quarter when the game was already well at-hand.
Sophomore Skylar Harris led the way for Sonora's offense with 12 points. Jackilyn Sykes was the only other Lady Bronco in double-digit scoring with 10 points.
The Lady Broncos followed up that win with a 38-33 win over Rocksprings later in the day.
Sonora trailed 19-18 at the half in that game before a 12-point third quarter took the Lady Broncos back in front.
Sykes led the scoring in the game with 13 points. Mary Kyle Johnson was right behind her with 12.
Sonora (11-1) faces Ozona on Friday.
The Eldorado Lady Eagles also went undefeated in the first day, defeating Iraan and Comstock.

The Broncos beat Irion County 43-34 to open the tournament before beating Brackett 42-23.
Sonora improves their record to 3-4 on the young season. They play Rocksprings to begin the second day of the tournament.
Along with Sonora and Irion County, Eldorado is also in the tournament.
The Eagles opened the tournament with a 61-21 win over Iraan before falling to the Central JV 61-46.
