Lubbock Woman Killed in Crash Near Coleman

COLEMAN, TX — A Lubbock woman was killed just west of Coleman yesterday in a single vehicle crash, the Texas DPS reported.

According to the DPS, Casey Kester Herrin, 48, of Lubbock was driving her 2018 Toyota 4Runner westbound on SH 158. At around 8 miles west of Coleman, the 4Runner veered right into the north barrow ditch and struck a guardrail. The impact straightened the direction of travel back to the west until the SUV struck an embankment on a drainage ditch.

The 4Runner went airborne, DPS reported, and landed back in the north side barrow ditch.

The crash happened Monday, Oct. 8 at approximately 2 p.m.
