JUNCTION, TX -- All of Kimble County remains under a flood warning Monday as the Llano River in Junction is out of its banks.
As we reported earlier, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Junction because the Llano River Near near Junction at 9:10 a.m. Monday was 30.6 feet and flood stage is 16 fee.
The river will continue rising to near 32.9 feet by late this morning. The river will fall below flood stage early Tuesday.
Major flooding is occuring with numerous roads and low water crossings flooded and impassible.
Structures along the Llano River in and near Junction are flooded.
The Junction Eagle is reporting that the Texas Department of Public Safety is on hand to assist with water rescues.
Electricity was reported out across the entire city of Junction.
The Junction PD also says water rescues are being performed.
This crest compares to a previous crest of 32.2 feet on Sep 8 1980.
Across West Central Texas, heavy rainfall and a threat for flash flooding will possible across the area through tonight.
A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for the Big Country, Concho Valley, and northern Edwards Plateau until 7 a.m. Tuesday.
In addition, a few strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible mainly this evening and overnight.
Large hail and damaging winds will be the main hazards, although an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
Back on Sept. 21 we reported that the city of Sonora was experiencing widespread flooding.
Since then, Gov. Greg Abbott has issued a disaster declaration for Sutton county and relief efforts continue after 250 plus homes were destroyed there.
