The Development Services Department has created on the City’s website a page for each of San Angelo’s 24 neighborhoods, where residents, business owners and visitors can access information about commercial developments, public infrastructure improvements and demographic data.
The pages can be accessed at cosatx.us/neighborhoods.
Each neighborhood’s page includes a PDF map that shows assets such as schools, churches, fire stations and parks. The pages also feature interactive maps showing the locations and types of development projects.
“We want San Angeloans to be engaged in their neighborhoods,” Development Services Director Patrick Howard said. “This is an effort to facilitate that. These pages give citizens valuable information of what’s happening where they live. In turn, that will allow them to be more proactive in the development of their neighborhoods.”
The pages’ creation was encouraged and the information on them shaped by the newly created Development Task Force. Composed of stakeholders and professionals in the development community, the task force is focusing on potential efficiencies in the City’s development review and approval process. It meets from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. on the third Wednesday of the month in the east reception room on the mezzanine of City Hall, 72 W. College Ave. The meetings are open to the public.
