San Angelo Police Detain a Man and Confiscate Illegal Weapon

SAN ANGELO, TX -- San Angelo Police detained a man in the H-E-B parking lot at 3301 Sherwood Way Wednesday afternoon during an ongoing illegal weapons investigation.

According to SAPD Street Crimes Division officer Craig Thomason, one person in a black SUV was detained for illegal possession of a prohibited weapon.  The illegal weapon was a firearm and was retrieved by police. The Department of Homeland Security is also involved in the investigation.

Thomason said the investigation is ongoing and the Police Department will release additional information at the appropriate time.
