WESTBROOK, TX -- An elderly Big Spring woman was killed Thursday in a one vehicle crash on I-20 in Mitchell County.
According to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, 77-year-old Vergie Young Renfro was a passenger in a 2008 Ford F150 driven by Dorthy May Watkins, female, 75, of Colorado City.
DPS Sgt. Fred Biddle says the pickup was traveling West on IH 20 where it went off the roadway at a curve and into the center median.
The driver turned back to the right, went across the roadway, and into the barrow ditch where it rolled over multiple times.
Renfro was pronounced dead at the scene.
Biddle says the crash is under investigation.
