MIDLAND, TX -- Bond has been set at $3 million for a Midland, TX man for his role in a murder-for-hire scheme.
According to an affidavit from the Midland County District Attorney's office, 54-year-old Barry Ray Eddleman was arrested Sunday and charged with three counts of murder.
Authorities say they found credible evidence that Eddleman had hired an unnamed individual to "take care of" three people in the Dallas area.
Eddleman was recorded saying he'd pay $8,000 to have the three people murdered because of legal and financial disputes.
Eddleman provided addresses for each of the individuals in writing.
He faces 5 to 99 years or life in prison if convicted of murder.

PermalinkMy question is that since the victims were not actually murdered, how can this guy be charged with murder? Shouldn’t the charges be attempted murder? I’m not saying that I condone his actions at all. I’m just confused.
