Former Big Spring ISD Employee Jailed for Improper Relationship

BIG SPRING, TX-- A former Big Spring teacher was arrested after allegedly having an improper relationship with a student.

Ricky James Shubert, 23, was arrested on Thursday with a second degree felony charge of improper relationship between an educator and a student.

The arrest comes following an investigation from the Big Spring Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division.

Police say the student was not attending Big Spring ISD at the time of the relationship.

Shubert had recently resigned from his position.

Big Spring ISD has been fully cooperative with authorities during the investigation, according to police.
