Police: Chicken Express Robber Caught

A 19-year-old San Angelo man was arrested late this afternoon in connection to last night’s Aggravated Robbery in the parking lot of the Chicken Express located at 2831 N. Bryant Boulevard.

Michael Martinez was located this afternoon outside a residence at the Nueva Vista Apartments, 2401 North Lillie.

Martinez was identified as a likely suspect after technicians with the SAPD’s Crime Scene Investigations Section obtained a positive match on a palm print that was lifted from the victim’s vehicle.   Martinez also showed to have two outstanding Warrants for Family Violence Assault.

After learning about a possible location for Martinez, Detectives with the Special Operations Section and Criminal Investigations Division set up surveillance of the complex.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., investigators located Martinez and took him into custody for his outstanding warrants.    During the field investigation, police located the mask Martinez used to rob the restaurant’s employee at gunpoint.  Police have also located a handgun suspected of being used in the robbery.

At the time of his arrest, Martinez was in possession of marijuana and methamphetamine.  After his interview with investigators, Martinez was transported to the Tom Green County Jail and charged with Aggravated Robbery, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, Felony 3 Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, and his outstanding Warrants.

Well, he was pretty slick before the cops nabbed him. Maybe we should start a fund campaign to help this poor guy out.... :-P

I'm guessing that he was into meth before he took on the oilfield (cause you got to have at least 1 felony to qualify for that!)
Not seeing anything about the oil field in the article. Where is that coming from? Pretty sure crimes have been happing long before and will continue long after the oil field.

Tiff... hop on the bandwagon... it's more fun to blame EVERYTHING on the oilfield! (because the people who REALLY think that will eventually get sick of blaming the oilfield because no one is arguing with them) haha
The courts hopefully will be lenient on him..... I'm sure he grew up in a single parent household with the other parent never in the picture, most likely was abused as a child, school teachers all probably missed his multiple learning deficiencies which caused him to quit school in the 8th grade, quite certain employers never offered him a great job opportunity because of their prejudiced opinions of his tattoo's and body piercings..... come on society, this treatment has to stop !!!
Quick to judge based on his appearance. You dont know the things he goes through. Thats whats wrong with this world. Quick to judge based on appearance, bein tatted up, and automatically everyone thinks your a low life. I know for sure no one is perfect in this world we all make mistakes. I know if anyone would give a chance or even a second chance yound adults wouldnt be doing things like this. We all deserve more than one chance. Are yall serious meth head he wasnt. Why not consider maybe tired of struggling and bein judge. Yall dont know what his life was like to assume thats what it was. Take the time and get to know him, and than put your self in his shoes. Maybe yall would understand. I love you bro. Im gonna miss you.
Second chances are for kids who fall off their bike while learning to ride it, or people playing the lottery -- not born losers who willingly victimize others for personal gain. Your buddy's tats are the least of his problems. He's judged by his actions for the most part. Someone who's "struggling" isn't arrested with pockets full of meth and marijuana. If there's any merit to your "second chance" argument, he's well past those with the crimes listed here alone. People who make a habit of turning the other cheek eventually run out of face to absorb further punishment. I don't need to put myself in his shoes, I know his type and despise everything people like him stand for. There's many people out here who have no interest in second chances being afforded to drug addicted, criminal trash. You might suggest to your buddy that he clean up his act and gets a job to support his habits before he pulls his BS on the wrong person.
