SAN ANGELO, TX -- U.S. Senator Ted Cruz stopped in San Angelo Wednesday for a Defend and Reform session with veterans at the Heights Church on Sherwood Way. He toured Goodfellow Air Force Base Wednesday as well.
The event was hosted by the San Angelo chapter of Concerned Veterans of America and 200 veterans and their family members attended. Concerned Veterans of America Texas Senior Field Director Russ Duerstine said the event was not a campaign stop for Cruz so those in attendance didn’t ask questions about the reelection campaign, focusing instead on veterans health issues. Many in the audience talked about how difficult it was to get healthcare through the Veterans Administration.

Senator Cruz said he would work on policy legislation to allow veterans to get the care they need when and where they need it.
At a news conference after the event, we asked Cruz about the Health and Human Services plan to house illegal immigrant children at Goodfellow AFB. “I don’t know the exact status. I spent a considerable amount of time with the leadership at Goodfellow and they are preparing to be able to stand up a detention facility if the decision is made to house unaccompanied children there.”
“My understanding is that decision has not been made so the leadership at Goodfellow doesn’t know if that’s going to happen or not. They have the land set aside of where the detention facilities would be stood up.”
Cruz answered questions about politics with members of the media. The junior Senator from Texas said he faces a serious challenge from Congressman Beto O’Rourke and discussed immigration and the difference between his stance and his opponent’s.
“He opposes the wall, he says we should tear down the fences and walls we have right now that we have too many. He supports sanctuary cities and just a few weeks ago he said he is open to abolishing ICE. That is just a radical view.” said Cruz.
He also added, “Congressman O’Rourke is now the only Democratic senate candidate in the country to come out explicitly for impeaching president Trump.”
Cruz and O’Rourke are locked in a tight U.S. Senate race with some polls show Cruz leading with O'Rourke slightly behind, within the margin of error. O’Rourke is a U.S. Congressman from El Paso and has campaigned in all 254 counties in Texas. Both men have raised about $24 million each. Texans haven’t elected a Democrat to a statewide office in over two decades. A win by Cruz in November would help Republicans keep control of the Senate.

Lying Ted does it again. Lies! Did anyone from "Live" ask O'Rourke about impeachment? He has gone on record with the Lubbock Avalanche Journal. Read up and take notes. Please remove Angelo State from your resume. It shows the University in bad light.

Lying Ted is taking folks for fools.

PermalinkTed the slug hasn’t bothered with signs or campaigning, yet he thinks this will be a tough election...duh! He’s going to get right on helping veterans, despite NOT doing anything about veteran’s care thus far. I’m sure we will soon hear that he will fix everything if we re-elect his slug butt. News Flash: you are going to have to earn my vote! And no, I will have nothing to do with Beto, despite the hundreds of signs all over town. If there was another conservative candidate running, I could easily forget all about ole Ted.

PermalinkIf the lies weren't bad enough, the junior senator from Texas (who was labeled a liar by trump) has asked his white house daddy for help beating O'Rourke. Gawd how that must feel!! Maybe the local nazis will get the chance to grovel at the feet of the new GOP, if he comes to San Angelo.

PermalinkNeedle nose Ted never does anything not related to his campaign. If it wasn't a campaign stop, then why was he constantly bringing up his opponent and their differences? Weasel Face Ted never served in the military, but he is all about Veteran's rights! He's more interested in their vote than their rights.

PermalinkIf Ted was not such a renowned liar and generally awful candidate this election would be a landslide. The vast majority of voting Texans would prefer almost anyone to someone who wants to abolish ICE, but who wants to go out and vote for Cruz? This state is turning into Brazil.

PermalinkMr Cruz just now concerned about veterans issues? It’s been going on for decades but hey, gotta have all the right buzz words to spew come any press conference.
And as the election gets closer he’ll bring out all the chest-thumping, grandstanding and sabre rattling his constituency can get frothed up about.
At least he’s not worshiping Satan and eating babies.

PermalinkNo matter how you feel about Cruz, he is still important in keeping the Senate majority for the GOP. How on God's green earth could you vote for an 4th generation Irish dummycrat whose goes by the name of Beto just so he can get a few votes from Latino Americans that didn't bother to research the slug and find out he isn't what his nickname implies. O'Rourke should give it away but......

PermalinkCruz is critical for keeping the Senate majority for the GOP. Otherwise, we elect Robert "Beto" O'rourke, a 4th gen Irish American who uses the nickname Beto so he can appear that he is hispanic. He is also a common criminal who wants to abolish ICE.....I wonder why. All dummycrats are the same as Hillary. They need to be locked up.
