BROWN COUNTY, TX-- After leading multiple Brown County law enforcement agencies on a car chase that ended with a crash into a mobile home, a Brownwood man was sentenced to six years in prison, according to KTXS in Abilene.
Jesse Michael Coppic, 25, of Brownwood, plead guilty to charges of evading arrest, unauthorized use of a vehicle and money laundering on Monday, according to the 35th Judicial District Court.
Coppic’s plea was part of a deal reached with Brown County prosecutors to avoid a court trial per KTXS’ report.
With the plea, Coppic has to serve six years in prison for evading arrest and 15 months for the other two charges.
Coppic led 10 Brown County law enforcement vehicles on an approximately 35-minute car chase back in February.
Texas Department of Public Safety troopers eventually deployed spike strips and Coppic lost control of his truck, crashing into a trailer home in Zephyr.
Coppic was arrested at crash scene.
