Saltgrass COO Finds Employee Fabricated Racist Story

ODESSA, TX — After a photo of a receipt from an Odessa Saltgrass Steak House waiter went viral last week, further investigation into the incident has proved that the story was may have been fabricated.

The receipt photo that was posted by Khalil Cavil had his first name circled at the top and a comment with a line to his name that stated, “we don’t tip terrorists.” The bill was over $100 and there was a zero in the tip line.

According to Midland Reporter-Telegraph, the original post has been deleted and Cavil’s page is no longer active.

The Saltgrass Steak House COO released a response to the incident, “After further investigation, we have learned that our employee fabricated the entire story. The customer has been contacted and invited back to our restaurant to dine on us. Racism of any form is intolerable, and we will always act swiftly should it occur in any of our establishments. Falsely accusing someone of racism is equaling disturbing."
