Employees Accused of Embezzling from Resort Owned By Host of Texas Country Reporter

KERRVILLE, TX — Kerr County sheriff deputies have arrested two people accused of stealing more than $90,000 from a resort owned by Bob Phillips, the host of the Texas Country Reporter.

According to KTXS, Dawn Renae Bostick, 42, and Pamela Lynn Nelson, 54, are former employees at the Escondida Resort. Phillips’ wife, Kelli, noticed the irregularities and alerted authorities about the potential fraud scheme.

Deputies said the two were allegedly scheduling spa appointments with resort clients and keeping the proceeds by sending the money to their personal bank accounts.

Nelson and Bostick are accused of stealing more than $90,000 over the course of three years, but investigators believe they could have embezzled as much as $400,000 when the cash-only transactions are factored in.

Nelson was arrested in Kerr County and Bostick was arrested in Gillespie County and both were charged with theft.

Stealing from Bob and Kelli Phillips is like stealing from Texas royalty. Good luck finding a sympathetic jury.
