Updated 6/22/2018 2:45 p.m. The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a Heat Advisory, which is in effect from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday for all of West Central Texas.
A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the occupational safety and health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency call 9 1 1.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service in San Angelo say dangerous heat and severe thunderstorms are possible on Saturday. Dangerously hot conditions will affect most of the area Saturday, especially across the Big Country and Concho Valley. Temperatures will warm to around 105 degrees, with heat index values near 110 degrees.
Slightly cooler, but still dangerously hot conditions will affect areas mainly west of a Brownwood to Ozona line on Sunday. If you are planning outdoor activities, remember to drink plenty of water and limit outdoor activity during the hottest times of the day.
Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will be possible Saturday afternoon into the overnight hours. The best chances will be generally north of a Sterling City to Cross Plains line Saturday
night. Some of these storms could become strong to severe, with large hail, damaging winds, and dangerous lightning being the main hazards.
The good news on the weather front is that high temperatures on Monday will only reach the upper 90’s.
