Jury Sends Man to Prison for Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact

SAN ANGELO, TX -- A Tom Green County jury on Thursday sentenced 51-year-old Brian Cascadden to eight years in prison for two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact.

Court records show Cascadden’s address is listed in Sonora, TX.  He was accused of entering a bedroom in a Tom Green County home on the night of July 15, 2016 and inappropriately touching a sleeping girl who was under 17.  Court documents show Cascadden admitted to law enforcement officers that he had touched the girl.

The jury began hearing evidence on Tuesday in District Judge Jay Weatherby’s court.  Jurors watched a video interview of the victim according to court documents.

The jury found Cascadden guilty on both counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact.  Each count is a second degree felony punishable by two to 20 years in prison a fine of up to $10,000.

After testimony and evidence in the punishment phase of the trial Thursday, the jury sentenced Cascadden to eight years in prison on each count and a $5,000 fine on each count.  Judge Weatherby pronounced the jury’s decision and remanded Cascadden to the custody of the Tom Green County Sheriff. He was given credit for time served.
