SAN ANGELO, TX — The vacant restaurant building at 4333 Sherwood Way is being transformed into a Fuzzy’s Taco Shop.
According to the popular Ft. Worth based franchise’s website, the newest location will be in the former Applebee’s building in the shopping center in front of the Cinemark movie theater.
The original Fuzzy’s Taco is on Berry St. in Fort Worth. The website says the idea was to create a place with frosty drinks and good vibes and a place you would never want to leave. Fuzzy’s Taco opened in 2003 and now has more than 100 locations nationwide.
Each Fuzzy’s Taco is independently owned and is designed take on the unique personality of the area. “Our Baja Life atmosphere is grounded in something we like to call a “business in the back and party in the front” approach. We are laser-focused on maintaining the disciplines required to run a successful restaurant, yet we are equally concentrated on offering an inviting and entertaining environment for our guests–after all, they are at the very heart of everything we do.”

That's almost as bad as soggy catfish, or a soggy tortilla... the only thing I like soggy is my soup! Never ate at a Fuzzy's, wonder how long after they open before the common man can enjoy sitting down to a meal there? Never was a fan of opening day.

PermalinkMy gosh, taco places are almost as prevalent as chicken places.

PermalinkI got hooked on Cajun cuisine, commuting to LA over the past 2 years for a little R&R. Boudin, Gator, Turtle Sauce Picante and of course Gumbo -- love it.
My girlfriend is Cajun, and can work some real magic in the kitchen. After decades of eating out, virtually every night, it's really awesome to have home cooked meals.
Peppercorn, I think has (or had) a weekly Cajun night, though I haven't tried it yet, but I think an authentic Cajun restaurant would be a hit in SA.
A while back, I heard of a completely different and original innovation that would most definitely do well here -- BLAXICAN FOOD. It's basically a hybrid of Mexican and Soul food. Very rich, in taste AND calories, but very delicious. The owner began with a mobile restaurant, which then led to an actual restaurant after becoming a local hit. Some of the items offered are Blaxi-Sweet Fries, Collard Green Quesadillas and Mexy Mac 'n' Cheese.

I have to agree with one of the previous posters, we DO have too many traditional taco joints. There's only so many ways you can arrange and rearrange beans, meat, rice and cheese.
