Man Who Escaped Schleicher County Sheriff's Patrol Car Captured in Midland

 

MIDLAND, TX-- The man who escaped custody in the back of a Schleicher County Sheriff's Deputy's patrol car was captured in Midland.

Matthew Albert-Duane Sparks escaped custody on May 17 and a two day search with dogs, DPS aircrafts and horse-mounted patrols ensued. Sparks could not be found and the search was suspended.

Sparks was arrested for a public intoxication complaint in Midland County. Schleicher County Sheriff David Doran and his staff was made aware of the capture by the Midland County Sheriff's Office.

Sparks, along with his escape, is facing a parole violation in Midland County and two counts of evading arrest and/or detention in Franklin County.
