BIG SPRING, TX -- (Press Release) Big Spring Police have arrested three men in connection with the burglary of the Higginbotham Bartlett hardware store on April 12, 2018. According to the Big Spring Police, 15 firearms were stolen from the store located at 1900 E. FM 700 in Big Spring.
The Criminal Investigation Division was assigned to investigate the burglary. After a month long investigation, detectives arrested 21-year-old Mikeal Ladarrean Chavera and 30-year-old Peter Manual Candelaria. Chavera and Candelaria are charged with burglary of a building and firearms smuggling.
Detectives also arrested 23-year-old Kendrick Dashaun Harris, also known as Keno. CID detectives executed a search warrant on Morrison St. where they seized a quantity of crack cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana along with a Taurus 9mm pistol and over $5,000 in cash. Harris was charged with two counts of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.
Officials say none of the stolen firearms have been recovered at this time. Big Spring Crimestoppers is offering a reward for information about the firearms.
