DEL RIO, TX — The U.S. Border Patrol’s Del Rio Sector welcomed approximately 100 National Guard personnel today as part of Operation Guardian Support.
“National Guard personnel bring valuable training and skillsets which we will be able to strategically link into our mission requirements,” said Del Rio Sector Deputy Chief Patrol Agent Matthew J. Hudak. “We welcome these men and women and we are grateful for their enthusiasm and expertise.”

National Guard personnel will be assigned to various stations throughout the sector. They will serve in support roles, such as administration and training, to allow more Border Patrol agents to return to their primary law enforcement duties. National Guard personnel deployed for Operation Guardian Support will not be armed or engage in enforcement operations in the field.
