Brady Police Tase Man Holding Knife to His Own Throat

BRADY, TX — Brady police said they arrested a Brady man witnesses observed striking vehicles in that town with a baseball bat.

According to the police, on April 18, they were dispatched to the 2000 block of S. High St. in Brady for a report of a white guy wearing a black vest and blue jeans who was walking down the street striking vehicles with a bat.

When police officers located the suspect, he refused to comply with verbal commands from police and took off running. Police caught up with the suspect at a 7-11 convenience store in the 1800 block of Bridge St.

The suspect was in the rear of the store and refused to obey officers again. He then produced a fixed blade knife and put it to his throat.

Brady police tased the suspect and he dropped the knife. A Taser is a non-lethal weapon police use that can disable a suspect before the suspect can do harm to police or themselves.

After EMS tended to the suspect, he was transported to the McColloch County Jail.

Brady police identified the suspect arrested as Jeremy Morgan, 22, of Brady. He was charged with evading arrest/detention and resisting arrest. Brady police said additional charges may be pending for criminal mischief.
