SAN ANGELO, TX -- (Press Release) The two San Angelo locations of the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program is expanding its hours to better serve its clients. Along with being open from 7 a.m.-noon and from 1 p.m.-6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, the main office at 52 W. College Ave. will also be open from 8 a.m. until noon the first Saturday each month, beginning in May. Clients wanting Saturday services must make an appointment in advance. The WIC office is in the Community Development Building next to City Hall.
At Goodfellow Air Force Base, the WIC program will be open from 8 a.m.-noon and from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. on the second Tuesday each month, beginning May 8. The WIC program is in Building 145 at 171 Valiant St. Women, Infants and Children is a City-administered nutrition program that helps pregnant women, new mothers, infants and young children eat well, learn about nutrition and stay healthy.
The WIC staff at Goodfellow will undergo training the second Tuesday in July, so the office will instead be open from 8 a.m.-noon and from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, the third Tuesday for that month only. WIC also has satellite locations in Ballinger and Coleman. The Ballinger clinic is located at First United Methodist Church at 1501 N. Broadway St. and is open from 7 a.m.-noon and 1 p.m.-6 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. The Coleman clinic at 303 E. College Ave. is open from 8 a.m.-noon and 1 p.m.-5 p.m. the first four Thursdays of the month.
