SAN ANGELO, TX -- San Angelo Police responded to a reported stabbing near Glenmore Elementary School in East San Angelo Tuesday afternoon.
According to SAPD Public Information Officer Tracy Gonzalez at the scene, officers responded to the school around 2:40 p.m. Gonzalez says a woman went into the school office and reported an assault involving her spouse.
Officers determined the suspect was not in the area, so the school was not locked down. The woman was treated for minor injuries and released at the scene.
The scene being investigated is not at the school. The victim has one child at the school.

PermalinkTo live in a county where the law only wants to put you in jail to make money off of you by keeping you on probation for your entire life. Meanwhile they don't tell anyone the truth about things and tax the good people of this county to foot the bill for all of their "criminal pets". All the while someone is asking for donations to report a story. HOW PATHETIC

PermalinkIf you're gonna beat on me or my team on our rants section, its gonna cost ya. I don't need the money; I want to be compensated by complainers before I give a crap about anything people like you say. Furthermore... You couched in the word "pathetic" and you placed that word in all caps. If you really care about it in such a forceful manner, put $100 (that's $50 extra from using all caps) in my Paypal whiskey fund otherwise shut your pie hole. PermalinkIf you don't break the law, you don't have to worry about getting caught up in the system that does make money off of criminal stupidity... You sound like every other person who's been in the system for their own stupidity all over this county... "They just want to keep me on probation to make money off of me or send me back, there's so many rules, they make it to where you're going to fail no matter what so I might as well keep being a dipstick." Guess what, when you screw up you do have to pay for it and it is hard and the money they charge you keeps the whole thing rolling so stop giving them a reason to mess with you, how can you be mad about how the system works if your actions put you in it? Oh, wait for it, you're going to rant back about how you're an upstanding citizen and you just know some sob story sucker who doesn't deserve what they got... On a side note, you guys give Joe a break on the news updates, you couldn't even use this platform if he and his workers weren't doing their jobs, even if some of the reporting comes from a point of view you don't agree with or doesn't get followed up on, I bet you couldn't take over his workload and perform half as well... Everyone seems to be highly critical of others without doing much of a self inventory first.

PermalinkIn a country that was founded by people who didn't want to pay taxes, we sure can be hard on people who cross the law—many of which probably don't even understand what the law requires of them or prohibits.
That's a major failing, indeed. If you live in a country, a state, a city, you should know it's laws, and if you feel that those laws are unreasonable, work to change them. Organize. Use the system and do so responsibly.
Joe Hyde does a great job, in my unsolicited opinion. He could stand to use more outlandish article titles and his early 20th century reporter slang could be a bit cornier. I'd like to see things described being "the bee's knees." No charge for my unsolicited consulting, mind you.

PermalinkIs out of control. The police dept needs to change how they respond to reports of spousal abuse. The laws need to be changed. If a spouse is accused of abuse he/she needs to automatically be in jail (if there is evidence). No getting out on parole til the case is heard. Most domestic violence is done by men. How about some education in schools on the issue? Classes on stress and how to handle it? There are young girls out there being abused by their boyfriends. I swear, if I hear one more time"he just loves me so much, he didn`t mean it" I am going to be sick....
Ok, rant over. :)

PermalinkI am a close aquaintance to the parties involved in this incident. Here is the actual facts:
The husband who works out of town alot driving 18-wheelers had been informed that his wife was being unfaithful. With that in mind....he told his wife that he was on the road in new Mexico and would be home in a few days. FACT IS THAT HE WAS ALREADY IN SAN ANGELO. When he went home, he had knowingly and unknowlingly come home to find his wife and HER best friend ( who is a male ) hanging out. When he questioned them....it came to light that HER best friend has been staying at his home during his departure. The husband also learned that the money he sent his wife to pay rent was never made and the money is mysteriously unaccounted for. At this point, the wife began defending HER best friend and the reason for her actions.
NOW PAY ATTENTION TO THE NEXT PART.....
After hearing his wife's explanation and reasonably assuming infidelity......the husband grabbed a knife and went after HER best friend. His wife jumped in the way to protect HER best friend (who once again is a male who has been secretly living in the house without husband's knowledge ) and she incidentally got some cuts on her hands. Once the husband realize his actions....he left their home. The wife and HER best friend then proceeded to the school to pick up her child with the knife injuries visible. Some other parents saw her injuries and became inderstandably concerned and informed law enforcement. This was why the ambulance was there and the wife was treated and released. AS I AM WITNESS TO THIS....her and HER best friend were literally inseparable from when the incident began until the investigation at her/husband's home was completed somewhere around 6pm yesterday. The main reason why HER best friend is no longer by her side is because he had warrants and was arrested.
There was no domestic abuse. Though I do agree that domestic violence is a major issue and the law enforcement and the public need to be properly informed of it's severity.
In my opinion.....all 3 adults were at fault. The wife for infidelity, HER BEST FRIEND for staying in the home Knowing the husband had no knowledge of this, and the husband for how he handled the situation.
But honestly......if the shoe was on the other foot, I really wonder how many people who puts themselves in the husband's shoes would have truthfully handled this situation?????
Me personally..... I think and almost 100% know that if I walked in my house and went through everything the husband went through......... I would be going Quintin rampage Jackson on both of them.
I have known this family for over 10 years. I know who the kids were with during the investigation. I have personally heard from both the mouth's of husband and wife on their own description of what the hell happened.
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED. 100% FACT.

PermalinkI'm not exactly sure how many reporters SAL has on staff, but it is not nearly enough. Covering crime alone, they obviously need an additional 8 or 10 writers as evidenced by this weekends' arrest tally. Eighty-seven arrested over the weekend is a staggering figure, one that sounds unusually high for a town of San Angelo's size. So, it is understandable that the "updates" promised for some stories are delayed, or occasionally neglected. I suggest Mr. Daddy and others who are eager to criticize join the herd and make it a one man, 3 goat operation.
The update promised for the fatal MVA near Sterling City has just been posted, and is a tragic story indeed. My condolences to family and friends.
