SAN SABA, TX-- The Miles Bulldogs run-ruled the San Saba Armadillos 12-0 in five innings on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs scored those 12 runs across the first three innings.
Nicky Perez opened up the scoring in the first inning with an RBI double to center field which brought Ross Kalina around to score. Jared Flores would notch an RBI on a sac-fly to right field which scored Perez. Leroy Garcia finished the scoring on what looked to be a ground out but turned into an error on the San Saba shortstop to score Mason Bryan who reached on a single earlier in the inning. Miles would take a 3-0 lead into the second inning.
The Bulldogs would plate four in the second inning and five in the third to give them their winning margin.
Flores started on the mound for Miles and threw a complete game shutout where he allowed just three hits and struck out nine. Flores also went 1-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs. Sterling Baker also tallied three RBIs while going 2-for-2 at the plate.
Perez was red-hot with the metal, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored in the win. Ross Kalina went 2-for-3 at the plate with a walk. The senior would score all three times he reached base.
The Bulldogs are now 8-8 on the year with a 3-0 district record heading into their clash with De Leon (7-2, 3-0) this Friday in Miles at 4:30 p.m.
