Two members of Angelo State University’s communications and marketing staff – Gabrielle Miller and Danny Meyer – have been recognized for their work by District IV of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
Miller, a graphic designer, won a Gold Award for Design-Posters for her poster promoting ASU’s 2013 Holland-Harrell Foreign Affairs Speakers Program.
University Photographer Meyer earned a Bronze Award for Color Photography-People and Portraits for his photo “Reflection,” which depicted ASU student Haley Hernandez spotlighted on horseback carrying the U.S. flag during a moment of silence at the 2013 San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo.
The awards were announced at the CASE District IV annual meeting in Houston last week. CASE is an international organization of higher education professionals in the fields of alumni relations, development, communications and marketing. District IV includes colleges and universities in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
The CASE recognitions were just the latest for the respective works of Miller and Meyer. Miller’s poster received Gold Addy, Best of Print and Best of Show awards from the American Advertising Federation-San Angelo in February. The entry was printed by Henry Begil and Aaron Carrillo of the ASU Print Shop.
Meyer’s photo earned a Gold Addy Award from the American Advertising Federation-San Angelo and a Silver Addy Award from the American Advertising Federation 10th District, which includes the AAF groups in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma.
