Tuesday is National Pancake Day and Here's How it Benefits San Angelo's Children

SAN ANGELO, TX — Tuesday is your chance to donate to the Children’s Miracle Network and enjoy a free short stack of pancakes from San Angelo’s IHOP Restaurant, 4302 College Hills Blvd. at Loop 306.

Here’s how it works. IHOP supplies the free breakfast between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb 27. In return, they ask you to donate what you can to the local Children’s Miracle Network. To do this, you purchase a wall icon in increments of $1, $5, OR $100. If you purchase a $5 wall icon, IHOP will give to you a $5 coupon for a future purchase of $10 or more. The coupon is valid at all participating IHOPs in the nation.

The Children’s Miracle Network helps pay for extraordinary medical treatment for San Angelo-area children who are patients of Shannon Medical Center.

One hundred percent of your contribution to CMN stays at Shannon Medical Center to benefit their Pediatric Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Trauma, Emergency Room, Shannon Pediatric Clinic and any other department that could possibly treat a child.

Last year Shannon treated more than 16,000 children. These children were treated for a variety of illnesses. They came from diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds and were treated without regard for their family's ability to pay.

The primary goal for Shannon is to provide the services, equipment and training necessary so that your child or one that you know can stay in San Angelo at home or close to home for their treatments.

Shannon Women's & Children's Hospital is the region's only dedicated facility for these special patients. It includes a dedicated pediatric unit, outpatient clinic with chemotherapy and infusion services, intermediate care nursery and NICU with capability to care for infants as young as 28 weeks.

IHOP’s program is beneficial to all concerned, including the donor, in that the restaurant is matching your $5 donation one-for-one with a coupon for a later visit worth $5.

The Children’s Miracle Network promotion in San Angelo is a part of National Pancake Day, and annual event held by IHOP Restaurants.

IHOP offers 65 different signature, fresh, made-to-order breakfast options, a wide selection of popular lunch and dinner items as well as meals under 600 calories. There are 1,750 IHOP locations around the world.
