Motorcycle Cop Injured in High-Speed Chase

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo police officer was injured in a high-speed chase through north San Angelo Monday afternoon.

The San Angelo Police Department Motors Division motorcycle patrolman was following a suspect motorcyclist in a high speed chase. According to Sgt. Tracy Gonzalez, the motorcycle policeman collided with a pickup truck that was not involved in the incident.

The suspect motorcyclist was apprehended near the intersection of 19th St. and N. Irving St. According to Gonzalez, the suspect laid his bike down and avoided colliding with another police officer. He sustained injuries and paramedics are treating him at the scene.

According to observation by our reporter at the scene, the motorcycle police officer was seen walking and talking but was loaded into an ambulance headed for the hospital.
