San Angelo Police Department Welcomes New Chaplain

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — (SAPD Press Release) Recently, the San Angelo Police Department welcomed its newest Police Chaplain, Marcella Jenkins, to the Department.  Jenkins was sworn in by Assistant Police Chief David Howard in a private ceremony.  Chaplain Jenkins was accompanied by her husband and fellow SAPD Chaplain, Gary Jenkins. 

 

Pastor Marcella Jenkins serves in the Pastoral Office of Eagles’ Wings International Ministries under the direction and leadership of Apostle Dr. Gary Jenkins, Founder and Senior Pastor.  She earned an Associate degree in Computer Science from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT, and has obtained her Microsoft Office 2000/2007/2010 Master's Certification and Microsoft User Specialist Certification.  She also holds a Bachelor of Theology degree from Christian Leadership Bible College, Inc., New Haven, CT.   

 

In addition to her pastoral duties, Pastor Jenkins has volunteered her time to use her expertise as an IT specialist working with community organizations.  She is on the Christian Job Corp board here in San Angelo and also teaches Microsoft Office applications for CJC.  Pastor Marcella is also the secretary for The Minister Alliance of San Angelo. 

 

Pastor Jenkins’ ministry and professional expertise has taken her across the United States, Belgium, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Jamaica.  Pastor Marcella was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut.  She and Apostle Jenkins together have seven lovely children and three wonderful grandchildren. 

 

San Angelo Police Department Chaplains act as a resource for counseling for members of the agency and their families, and serve as a liaison with other clergy in the community.  They are called upon to deliver the invocation or benediction at public ceremonies as representatives of the police department and respond to crises situations when called upon.
