For the fifth year in a row, the San Angelo Independent School District has received the State Comptroller’s highest award for financial transparency. Russell Gallahan from the Texas Comptroller’s Office states, “As the regional representative for your region, I am pleased to inform you that San Angelo ISD has earned a PLATINUM Leadership Circle Award by scoring twenty-one of twenty-two possible points on our ratings criteria.” For the previous four years, San Angelo ISD received the Gold Leadership Circle Award which was the highest obtainable award until the recent implementation of the Platinum Award.
The platinum insignia indicating that San Angelo has earned this prestigious award will be added to the listing on the Comptroller’s Texas Transparency website. Copies of the insignia will be prominently displayed on the school district’s website as well.
Assistant Superintendent Jeff Bright thanked numerous staff for their commitment to excellence including Jack Wilcox and Rebecca Hopkins who both make sure the district’s web pages meet the guidelines set forth by the Comptroller’s office.
