Laredo Police Arrest the Cheesy Bandits

 

LAREDO, TX. – A father and son were arrested Wednesday for allegedly stealing cheese from a local convenience store.

The duo has a lengthy criminal history, 48-year-old Alfredo Alberto Alaniz and his son, 27-year-old Alfredo Alberto Alaniz Jr.

According to Laredo Police, the incident happened on Jan. 27 at 10:00 a.m. at the Moreno’s Quickstop store located on the 3600 block of Jaime Zapata Memorial Highway.

Witnesses stated to the police that one of them would try to distract the cashier while the other stole the merchandise.

Police say about $138 worth of cheese was stolen from the convenience store. Detectives arranged for a photo line up and the employees were able to identify the two, Alaniz Senior and Alaniz Junior.

Laredo Police picked up the two on Feb. 7 after they attempted to steal from another convenience store.

Alaniz Senior has 38 arrests relating to shoplifting, robberies, and thefts, and his son, Alaniz Jr. has 27 arrests related to thefts as well.

Both men were arrested and charged with theft, according to KGNS.tv.
