ABILENE, TX-- An Abilene foster mom was arrested and charged with Injury to a Child after a 2-year-old was hospitalized with serious injury according to KTXS.
Hannah Seekins, 31, was arrested and released on Thursday after posting a $10,000 bond. The incident in questioned happened in April 2017.
The foster child went limp and his eyes rolled to the side while he was lying on the floor which prompted Seekins to call an ambulance, according to court documents. Seekins said the child must have fallen from a bench.
After the child was air-lifted to Lubbock, doctors determined the child had retinal hemorrhage, ligament damage to the cervical spine, subdural hemorrhaging along the spinal cord and a couple of fractures of the fourth thoracic vertebrae according to documents. Doctors felt the injuries posed a "substantial risk of death" and were "very concerning for physical abuse".
The court documents also said the doctors feel the injuries are not consistent with the type of fall Seekins said the child had.
