Coastal Cookies Closing Shop After 38 Years

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Coastal Cookies will close up shop at Sunset Mall after Christmas Eve.

After 38 years at Sunset Mall, Coastal Cookies will not be renewing their lease and will close its doors after Christmas Eve. Coastal Cookies has been a part of the Sunset Mall since the doors opened in 1979.

Manager, Susan Serratt, said, "I have not been given a specific reason why we are closing but I know I will be out of the job come January after working here for 13 and a half years."

Many patrons and employees of the mall are upset the establishment is closing and wish something could be done.

the terms of the new lease might provide some insight into the closing. In turn, knowing factors which affect the mall's cost of operation would be interesting too. Factors like the city mucking around with mall zoning or our absurd property taxes.

The vision I am getting from my crystal ball shows tumbleweeds blowing through the abandoned Sunset Mall parking lot and gang grafitti spray painted all over the walls in the very, very near future....... It's lived a full 35 or so years worth of a life but is now knocking on deaths door...... Bulldoze it and build the new Police station on the property.
