SAN ANGELO, TX — At 5:30 a.m., Dec. 7, Officer Marquez Rodriguez of the San Angelo police department responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment located at 17 W. 31st St. Rodriguez found one female, Ancirea Huffman, who complained she had been shot, according to the arrest affidavit obtained by San Angelo LIVE!
The affidavit describes the harrowing events that badly injured a 31-year-old San Angelo woman, Huffman, living on San Angelo’s north side. She was rushed to Shannon Medical Center with a critical gunshot wound. Her current condition is not being reported by authorities.
Taking charge of the crime scene, Officer Rodriguez confirmed there was a gunshot wound to Huffman’s left beast.
Ashley Lynn Robertson was identified as the shooter, someone Huffman knew from the day before when Robertson was at her apartment.
Robertson has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a .380 Caliber handgun. The charge is second-degree felony, punishable with 2 to 20 years in the state penitentiary and up to $10,000 fine.
Four empty shell casings were found near the front door.
Officer Rodriguez also reported that a bullet impact was located inside the apartment directly across from the front door in an entertainment center.
Huffman told police that she was inside her apartment cleaning when she opened the front door to sweep out some trash. It was then she saw Huffman standing near her door by the air-conditioning unit.
Then there was gunfire.
When she heard the shots, she stumbled backwards into her apartment, but was able to close and lock the door.
It was only then that Huffman realized she had been shot in her left breast.
The relationship between Huffman and Robertson is unknown at this time.
Police have a warrant to arrest the accused shooter, Ashley Lynn Robertson, on charges of Assault with a Deadly Weapon and are seeking her whereabouts.
