San Angelo Police Arrest Suspected Drug Dealer with K-9 Help

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- (SAPD press release)  San Angelo Police arrested a 39-year-old San Angelo man Monday night after an alert officer and a K-9 find meth and marijuana.  

Philip S. Horton was arrested on an outstanding narcotics warrant out of Howard County after SAPD officer W. Bowhay recognized his in the parking lot of the Econo Lodge Motel Monday night just before 11 p.m.  

The officer knew Horton had a warrant for narcotics, so he called in the K-9 service dog Xander and officer J. Fincher.  Xander conducted an open air search and signaled he found narcotics.  Officers searched the vehicle and found a small amount of marijuana and suspected methamphetamine.  

Horton was arrested and charged with felony manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
