Van Buren Bandit Gets Swift Justice Thanks to SAPD

SAN ANGELO, TX - Frankie Gonzalez Jr., the 32-year-old man sought in connection to a burglary of a building on S. Van Buren that was caught on surveillance video in late September, was taken into custody last night after a brief foot pursuit in North San Angelo.

Just before 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, San Angelo Police were dispatched to the Donut Palace, 1917 N. Bryant Boulevard, for the report of a suspicious subject who was in the alley behind the shop and attempting to gain entry.

An Officer made contact with the suspicious subject and attempted to identify him when the subject, later identified as Gonzalez, broke contact with the Officer and ran westbound towards the 1900 block of Lillie Street.

Gonzalez was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit and arrested for his outstanding warrant for Burglary of Building.  Gonzalez was additionally charged with Fail to Identify Fugitive from Justice and Evading Arrest Detention.  Gonzalez was taken to the Tom Green County Jail.
