20 Pounds of Cocaine, 9 Pounds of Meth Seized in Eagle Pass

EAGLE PASS, TX  U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized nearly 30 pounds of narcotics at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry.

On Oct. 9,  U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at Eagle Pass International Bridge inspected a 2011 Honda Accord, driven by a 50-year-old woman, as it arrived in the United States from Mexico. During inspection officers discovered two bags on the front seat, containing a total of 12 packages of suspected narcotics. Officers seized more than 20 pounds of alleged cocaine and 9 pounds of alleged methamphetamine, with a combined estimated value of $291,774.  The driver, a U.S. citizen and resident of Eagle Pass, was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations for federal prosecution.
