Crime was on the rise Thursday, when 36 perps were put behind bars at the Tom Green County Jail. Of those booked, eight were arrested on charges of theft or burglary, two for credit card abuse and one for forgery.
Alcohol accounted for six arrests, four of which were public intoxication and two were DWIs. Additionally, there were two assaults, one evading arrest, one resisting arrest and one possession charge.
Forty inmates were released Thursday.
